Udaipur, the city of lakes and palaces is spruced up impeccably as our childhood fairy tales portrayed. Shilpgram, a small village in the eastern part of Udaipur is another major attraction. It gets all festive and colorful during the month of December when it hosts a cultural and crafts fair. Performers, artisans and craftsmen come from all over Rajasthan, Goa and Maharastra. It’s ideal to visit Udaipur during this time.

Now that we want to feast on the exquisite architecture and palaces in and around Udaipur, the Sajjan Garh’s Monsoon Palace is the first destiny. It used to be the summer resort of Maharaja Sajjan Singh having the infrastructure in those age-old times when rainwater was stored all year to meet the water scarcity of the desert-terrain.

Saheliyon-ki-Bari is also a captivating palace where 48 women attendants lived. The sophisticated palace is adorned with gardens and fountains. The Jagdish Temple and Udaipur Solar Observatory are addendum to your travel map.

The local Rajasthani cuisine is a savor to your taste-buds; be it in thalis or buffets. The Bhartiya Lok Kala Museum is the best place to indulge in local souvenir shopping like tribal accessories and other handicrafts. Puppet show is staged every evening in the museum.
